Walking: This is one of the easiest exercises. Old people just need to walk around their neighborhood if the weather is nice. In case of bad weather, walking around inside the house will do. This simple exercise not only helps legs more flexible, but also avoids influencing the muscles like other heavy exercises.
Jogging: This exercise can be done indoors or outdoors depending on the weather and hobbie. This exercise is really good for the body. However, they should watch the speed considering their age.
Squats: Old people can improve flexibility for their legs and butt with a simple exercise – squats. This simple exercise is effective and good for health.
Leg elevation: While sitting on the couch, old people should bring their legs up and down and still maintain balance. If keeping legs straight is too hard, trying to make them form a slight curve will do. The exercise can work best this way. Doing this exercise a few times per day will improve the muscle and leg strength.
Standing on one foot: This is a very effective exercise to prevent stroke because this posture improves the balance while standing. At the beginning, hang to chair handrails to keep balance on one foot, after a few minutes change leg. When the balance is improved, start to hang to the chair handrails with one hand and then gradually move to no hands. However, old people need someone beside while doing this exercise in case of an unfortunate accident.
Stretching: Old people should sit in a chair, then bow head but still keep their hands vertically. However, it is no good to stretch the body too much or to take a deep bow, it could be really dangerous.
